The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens are not like they were when I was a kid. The above-ground facilities have been replaced by a set of environments that are predominantly underground, except for the glass ceilings. Connected by a hub, each possesses its own climate to house plants from differing environments. It's really very cool, particularly since you can sit in the connecting area and munch on a bowel of chili. And this absolutely fantastic looking duck? He just loves hanging around the outside pool, but was too great a shot to pass up.
