Halloween in a Rich Neighborhood... The Parade 08: Trendy, trendy Park Slope Brooklyn NY is a brownstone neighborhood that really defines "Brownstone Brooklyn." It's much too liberal for us politically, which is why my lovely wife, our dog and myself love displaying our McCain/Palin buttons in the street. Unbelieving gazes of the Obamites make walking the streets of our neighborhood a hoot, with natives and tourists alike, gaping at us as if we were invaders from Mars. But in spite of political differences, everyone comes together (more or less) for Halloween. The parade down 7th Avenue (the main drag) has really grown, although it hasn't lost its festive neighborhood quality as you can see by photos taken from my window. Okay, I'll admit it. Halloween is one of my three favorite holidays. I just can't resist. Clicking on thumbnail photo will bring up a larger photo for your viewing.
